Creative Torbay Survey Results...
A big thank you to everyone who completed our survey late last year.
To recap we were asking you about this site and how you use it, what areas you used the most and how you feel it helped you as both a consumer of arts and culture and a producer.
The results are most interesting. We now have a good baseline and we will return with a new survey in the future and track any changes to the way you use the site and what you think of it.
You can view the whole report by clicking the link.
The headline is that you like and value the site.
We welcome any feedback or comments you have either in the comments section below or via email creative.torbay@torbay.gov.uk

Bread and Roses
Today we offer you are tale of two surveys. The past week has seen the release of two important pieces of consultation. The first all about creativetorbay.com, the results get under the skin of you our users and is a fascinating read which tells us lots about how you value the site and how its driven footfall to your businesses and events. The second survey is the Torbay Council consultation which took place around the proposed budget and inevitable cuts and savings that have to be made. Many of you will have seen on the news in the past few months Council’s around the country cutting library services and arts provision culminating with Council’s like Somerset cutting all provision and Newcastle threatening to follow suit.
The Torbay Council survey offered you the chance to comment on where you felt saving could and should be made, guess which area was overwhelmingly the area people thought should be cut? 10 points if you said Arts and Culture! The interesting thing was looking inside the surveys at the respondents profiles, of the people who responded to the creativetorbay survey 49.4% were under 45 (and 4.4% over 65) whilst of those responding to the budget survey 11.1% were under 45 (and 46.1% over 65).
The true demographic in Torbay is that 48.2% of the population are under 45 and 23.6% are over 65. Interesting isn’t it? by highlighting this figures we aren’t in any way suggesting that older or younger residents are more or less likely to value the arts, we were wondering if any of you reading this did both survey’s or just one and why? Let us know @creativetorbay
As promised it’s a packed newsletter with tons of things to do this ½ term, whatever you do have a wonderful time.
