Young People's Puppet Theatre launch event
The Young People's Puppet Theatre is a new local educational charity which exists to bring puppetry into schools. Our launch event will take place at at Aboyne Lodge Primary School in St Albans at 19:30 on Thursday 18th June and we would like to invite teachers and arts educators to come and find out more about what we do. The event will last approximately an hour and will include a short performance by Aboyne Lodge’s Year 6 class, during which all roles will be taken by pupils, from puppeteering to voices to scene changing to lighting and sound. This performance comes at the end of their ten-month project, during which time each pupil has made a puppet and has collaborated with classmates to produce the set designs and props used in the production. In the course of the launch evening there will also be opportunities to hear from teachers and heads involved in past and current YPPT projects, and to learn more about what goes on backstage during a performance. The formal part of the launch will be followed by refreshments, an opportunity to see backstage and an opportunity to speak to people involved in current and past projects.
This event is aimed primarily at teachers, headteachers and arts/education consultants from the area, but if you're keen to get involved with the YPPT in any capacity, get in touch and we'll reserve you a ticket!
Tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance by calling or emailing the Administrator.
