YPAT Ravensthorpe Art Showcase- 'Every child an artist'

The Young People’s Activity Team (YPAT) are proud to present ‘Every child an artist’ – an exhibition showcasing artistic expressions of young people.

YPAT is a short breaks respite service for children and young people with a disability from across Kirklees. We provide a range of fun, person-centred activities for young people at our after school clubs, play schemes and weekend clubs.

One aspect of the activities on offer at YPAT is arts and crafts, ranging from clay work to painting to jewellery making, where the focus is on the process and experience of the young person participating, not necessarily on the standard of a finished product.

This freedom has led to a diverse range of art work on display at ‘Every child an artist’. The featured prints, sketches, photography and video celebrate the work created by young people and presents them in an art gallery setting we feel the collection is worthy of.
