This course will focus on textile printing using hand drawn imagery.

Learners will develop their images into print through drawing and mark-making onto transparent film using a variety of media and techniques, generating ‘positives’ which are then translated onto screens to make a stencil using the photo-emulsion process. Images will then be printed onto fabric using pigment paste, producing a washable 2 or 3 colour screen-printed piece of fabric, suitable for making into a cushion cover, bag etc. The course will also include tuition on design, colour mixing, colour separation, registration and overprinting with transparent colour – with clever over-printing or screen blocking more colours can be gained.
