Etching – Taster Session – February
Thurs 14 February
£30 - Evening session
6 - 9
Tutor: Neil Anderson
This taster will show you how to produce your very own etchings. From preparing your plate to inking and printing.
Etching, is an ‘intaglio’ printmaking process, where lines and tones are ‘bitten’ into a metal plate. (This is traditionally done using an acid, however we use a solution of copper sulphate – a less toxic alternative). A print is then taken from ink which is held within these bitten marks. Learners will be guided through the process of plate making, inking and printing in the traditional intaglio way.
