Monoprint and Drypoint: CREATE! Workshop at WYPW
Day workshop
Saturday 18th June 2016
11 – 3
Tutor: Andrew Hambleton
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, and will teach you the basics of monoprinting and drypoint printmaking.
These two techniques are ideal for getting ideas down and generating imagery on paper quickly, so it is great for those who want to experiment with print, but don’t have the patience or time for longer and more complicated printmaking techniques.
“There is always the fear that an idea might disappear, so you approach the work accordingly” – Spontaneity and fluency is at the core of Andrew’s work. He has recently completed an artist residency at Hot Bed Press printmaking studio in Salford, where he has been working on a series of monoprints, small copper etchings and drypoints referencing the urban landscape.
If you have a hectic life and have to squeeze your creative time into a tightly-packed schedule, our new CREATE! Monthly Saturday Sessions are for you! So you can have your weekend morning lie-in, learn a new skill and indulge your creativity, and get home in time for tea! All our workshops are suitable for beginners and are taught by expert tutors, and the price of the course includes all materials.
