InHouse - Printmaking exhibition
This exhibition brings together a selection of work produced by learners on our in-house programme of creative short courses in printmaking. It showcases the quality and diversity of the work produced, and the creative possibilities of the techniques taught. We offer high quality tuition by experienced, practicing artists, and we keep groups small, (maximum of eight), to give you a more practical and hands on experience. We welcome all – from complete beginners through to experienced printmakers, and all course prices include basic materials. The course programme comprises of:
Printmaker’s Toolkit Sessions One-hour talk/demo sessions by practicing artist printmakers
Taster Sessions & day workshops 3 – 6-hour workshops which introduce you to specific techniques. These are hands on, inky, creative and experimental sessions.
Weekend Courses, Summer Schools & Masterclasses 10+ hour workshops which are intended to really immerse you in a particular technique, to get you to a stage where you are able to join the workshop as a member and continue using the facilities to make and develop your own work.
Quotes from course participants:
“A fantastic weekend. Tutor was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, always happy to give constructive advice but also made you feel as though you had freedom to experiment. A really relaxed atmosphere and a brilliant facility. Thank you to everyone involved.”
“An excellent workshop! Well-paced with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor, and a good variety of art materials to support the session”
“I thought the course was very good and will inspire me and others to go further into screen printing. As a taster course I thought it definitely laid the foundations.” “The tutor was very accomplished in delivering this course. She delivered all the course content well and also provided very personal tuition to a class of mixed ability and interests. I would recommend this to anyone at all interested, to dip their toes in. I was extremely pleased and surprised what can be accomplished through such a short course. I will miss my Wednesday nights at Mirfield!”
