Flourish Award 2016- New prizes!

WYPW is delighted to announce additional prizes for the Flourish Award, thanks to Great Art, Jacksons and Hawthorn Printmaker Supplies.

In addition to the main award, runners-up will receive vouchers for art materials and a special award from WYPW for a course of their choice, will go to a student/recent graduate.

The Flourish Award was established in 2009 by West Yorkshire Print Workshop to champion and showcase excellence in printmaking across Yorkshire. The award now provides artists and printmakers from across the UK with the opportunity to exhibit their work in a group exhibition at the WYPW Gallery. The winner of the award goes on to present their own solo print exhibition at Huddersfield Art Gallery in 2017. The winner will also have the opportunity to undertake a two-week residency at WYPW.

To enter, you can register online at www.wypw.org and upload up to three images for selection by our independent selection panel. Judges confirmed include Helen Waters, Director at Alan Cristea Gallery, Katherine Jones, Artist/Printmaker, and Ruth Gamble, Gallery Manager at Huddersfield Art Gallery.

Submission fees apply: Standard entry fee for the Flourish Award 2016 is £15.
For members of West Yorkshire Print Workshop entry is £10.

Artists whose work is shortlisted will be invited to include their work in the Flourish exhibition held at West Yorkshire Print Workshop from 17 September - 29 October 2016. During the exhibition our panel of judges will select the winning printmaker - the Flourish Award Printmaker of the Year - and two commended artists. Additional prizes are to be confirmed.

Winner of Flourish 2015, Sumi Perera, will present her exhibition at Huddersfield Art Gallery from 6th August – 15th October 2016.
