Etching – Taster Session – June

This session will introduce you to the technique of etching, an ‘intaglio’ printmaking process, where lines and tones are ‘bitten’ into a metal plate. (This is traditionally done using an acid, however we use a solution of copper sulphate – a less toxic alternative). A print is then taken from ink which is held within these bitten marks. Learners will be guided through the process of plate making, inking and #printing in the traditional #intaglio way.
