As part of our series of spoken word events, we're sharing the work of poet Rakaya Fetuga in celebration of National Writing Day on 23 June 2021.

National Writing Day celebrates the power of writing creatively as a way of self-expression. Rakaya found her voice in poetry while journeying into writing, inspired by famous authors. Her work revolves around her heritage and joins up conversations surrounding identities, faith and culture.
