The Slocan Ramblers (Canadian bluegrass) at Marsden Mechanics
Barnstorming bluegrass band The Slocan Ramblers return to the UK this autumn and we’re delighted to welcome the lads back to Yorkshire with a gig at Marsden Mechanics this year, after hosted them for a sold-out concert in Sheffield in 2018. This brilliantly entertaining quartet will bring a smile to your face and have your feet tapping. Hailing from Toronto, the multi-talented Canadians combine impressive bluegrass musicianship (on mandolin, banjo, guitar and double bass) with a fresh contemporary appeal. Their third album, Queen City Jubilee (2018) has amassed glowing reviews and a prestigious 2019 Juno Award nomination for Traditional Roots Album of the Year. Join us for what’s bound to be an outstanding and fun evening of sizzling bluegrass and Americana!
“Contemporary bluegrass at its very best…their latest album Queen City Jubilee could be the one that propels them to the forefront of the acoustic roots scene.” – Songlines magazine
