Fourth of July livestreamed concert, Streaming Across the Sea
Part 1 of True North Music's Streaming Across the Sea online festival took place on Sunday 4th July, and featured some exceptional folk, roots, Americana and bluegrass artists livestreaming from across the USA. There was a gorgeous duo performance by Vivian Leva & Riley Calcagno, followed by an in-the-round songwriter style session of music and chat with Melody Walker (Front Country), Ben Hunter, Liv Greene and Grammy-nominated Joe Troop (Che Apalache).

The event was supported by public funding from Arts Council England Project Grants - and your donations! Donations will help us cover all costs and pay the musicians as fairly as possible, and are still open at paypal.me/truenorthmusicuk
The Streaming Across The Sea online festival also featured a livestreamed concert by two excellent British bands on 10th July (filmed in Meltham) and Zoom workshops in step dance and mandolin. The event was originally planned as True North Music's first ever real-life Yorkshire Americana & Bluegrass day, set to take place at Marsden Mechanics. Organiser Maria Wallace had managed to secure Arts Council funding in early 2020, to help support this. Of course it had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, and after postponing for 12 months, True North Music decided to go online instead, amid ongoing safety concerns around indoor events.
