WANTED Community groups to perform at Torbay Dance Platform

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY

As a local dance group or artist this is your chance to take part in an exciting showcase to celebrate dance in Torbay.

If you are a school dance group, a private dance school, a community dance group or an independent dance artist or company and would like to perform a short piece (3-5 mins in length) we want to hear from you! We would really like to showcase a range of dance genres and pieces, and invite all sectors of the dance community to share their work. All ages and levels of experience are welcome!

We are keen to hear from inclusive groups and disabled dance artists. Please note that wheelchair access is limited at the venue so please contact us for more information about how we can accommodate your group.

We want to showcase home grown work wherever possible and preference will be given to Torbay-based dance groups.

Dance in Devon and Doorstep Arts will select a programme of work that reflects the diversity of dance happening in and around Torbay. The platform will offer a mixed programme of short dance pieces performed by people of all ages and levels of experience, and will be part of the Doorstep Theatre Festival 6-16 April 2016.

Important dates:
• Deadline for applications 30 January 2016
• Dress and tech rehearsal support on Friday 8 April and/or Saturday 9 April at Paignton Palace Theatre
• Performance in the evening of Saturday 9 April at Paignton Palace Theatre

About Doorstep Theatre Festival

Doorstep Theatre is a touring partnership between Torbay and internationally acclaimed producers Battersea Arts Centre. The next season of Doorstep Theatre runs from 6-16 April 2016. The festival is providing amazing theatre performances in non-traditional theatre spaces, and creating opportunities for regional theatre-makers, workshops with artists, new regular weekly offerings for participating in theatre locally, and performance platforms for existing groups in Torbay.
