PREMIERE OF TORBAY SET ACTION THRILLER FILM 'THEY'RE COMING'

They’re Coming is the new action thriller from Torquay based director John Tomkins who, along with a great team of filmmakers and actors from across Devon, has constructed a gripping thriller which makes expert use of picturesque Torbay. The cast is made up of acting talent from across Devon – Tom Menary, Kirsty Anne Symonds, James Cotter, Lexi Carducci and Mark Vernon Freestone to name but a few.

Filming took place in March 2012 with highlights including a chase sequence utilising Paignton Library, Rock Walk and the International Riviera Centre, and a fight sequence overlooking the bay at night. The project has had generous support from BBC Radio Devon, This Is South Devon, Western Morning News, the Herald Express, and the Plymouth Herald.

The film’s leading man Tom Menary also doubled as co-writer and Director of Photography Jim Elton brought a slick visual style to the film which shows off Torbay to its fullest extent. The sound design was provided by Julian Kemp of Diddy films and the music was composed by three locally based composers, all of whom created an atmospheric score.

The film’s aim is to showcase creative talent from across Devon, and it also demonstrates what can be achieved with limited resources and a low-budget. They’re Coming will be premiered on September 27th at 9pm at the Merlin Cinema Torquay before it starts it’s journey around the world
