“Lyrical perfection” Write Out Loud

“Oswald has achieved a miraculous feat” The Telegraph

Commissioned by the London Literature Festival at the South Bank Centre, Alice Oswald performs her extraordinary and unforgettable retelling of Tithonus, who was made immortal by Zeus. This amazing collaboration begins in darkness, and is an astonishing tour de force: powerful, passionate, virtuosic, and finally moving.

Alice Oswald lives in the South Hams with her family and is hailed as one of the most important poets living today. She won the T.S. Eliot Prize in 2002 for Dart, and the Ted Hughes Award in 2009. Griselda Sanderson studied at the Dartington College of Arts and is a busy producer, collaborator and academic writer in oral traditions from Africa, Scotland and Ireland, as well as fiddler and virtuoso player of the Swedish nykelharpa.

Part of the Dartington International Summer School concert and event programme.
