The brilliant young clarinetist Jean Johnson has been a guest principal with the Bergen Philharmonic, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Ireland, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, and the Scottish Ballet Orchestra. She has also worked as a chamber musician with numerous chamber groups such as the Paragon Ensemble, Hebrides Ensemble, Mr. McFalls Chamber Orchestra.

She brings to Dartington a truly lovely programme, mixing Schumann’s soulful Romances with two of the most passionate sonatas in the woodwind repertoire. Jean is accompanied in this concert by her husband, the acclaimed pianist Steven Osborne.
