“The music ranges from lazy lounge music to uptempo beats and spaced-out moods, with Zappa-influenced odd metres. It's music that sweeps the audience away,” Bimhuis, Amsterdam.
One of Europe’s funkiest and busiest jazzers, Eric Vloeimans plays old and new music in Dartington’s Great Hall – Bulgarian dance, tango, John Dowland, Deep South blues, his own poetic music, and much more. He performs in a new collaboration with guest poet Alice Oswald, and Artistic Director Joanna MacGregor.
Vloeiman’s joyful artistry is infectious, and multiple collaborations and recordings have shown his versatility. His musical talent, easy-going attitude and great sense of humour have brought him to play with international artists such as Mercer Ellington, John Taylor, Peter Erskine, The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Joey Baron, the Holland Baroque Society, Michael Moore, the Matangi Quartet, Bojan Z, Martin Fondse, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and many, many others.
Part of the Dartington International Summer School concert and event programme.
