James Runcie has written many acclaimed novels (including The Discovery of Chocolate and The Colour of Heaven), has been the Artistic Director of Bath Literature Festival and Head of Literature at London’s Southbank Centre. Now the writer of the hugely successful The Grantchester Mysteries (adapted as the ITV/PBS Masterpiece series Grantchester, starring James Norton and Robson Greene), he brings his wit and wisdom to Dartington with a lecture on poetry, speech, silence, and the art of using words musically. With examples from great poets, from the 16th century to today, James will dazzle and entertain you.
