“Passionate performances that combine technical accomplishment with interpretative flair” The Strad on the Heath Quartet
A heavenly late-night combination of Mozart’s pure A major Clarinet Quintet and Rautavaara’s String Quintet. Einojuhani Rautavaara (born 1928) is Finland’s most famous composer. Like Arvo Pärt, his music is often seen as mystical, austere and beautiful; his harmonies are lush and even jazzy. This is a rare chance to hear a masterpiece from this highly influential composer and teacher.
