The ever-popular countertenor Nicholas Clapton returns to Dartington, with an absolutely lovely programme of Duparc chansons, Quilter (Go, Lovely Rose and Love’s Philosophy) and folk song arrangements, by Britten, Grainger and Ireland.
One of the great pioneers and teachers of countertenor repertoire, Nicholas Clapton has branched out way beyond the usual Baroque styles, giving more than thirty world premieres, and specialising in the warmth of Romantic song. This concert is a chance to experience his passionate and life-enhancing musicianship.
