“A player of taste and superb technique” Gramophone Magazine
Carole Cerasi is one of the foremost early keyboard players of her generation. In the last 25 years she has established herself at the very front rank of performers and recording artists in her field. Her many performances have received great critical acclaim and her recordings have garnered an impressive series of awards.
Carole’s late-night clavichord recital explores the father-and-son relationship of Johann Sebastian and Carl Phillip Emanuel Bach, and Bach senior’s last-ever student, the virtuoso clavichordist and composer Johann Gottfried Müthel. The two younger men remained lifelong friends and allies, although Müthel, unusually, moved to Latvia. Carole Cerasi celebrates this lesser-known composer in this family-and-friends programme.
