Crafted: Preserves, Pickles & Ferments
10am to 4pm
£50
Join fermenting enthusiasts Voirrey Watterson and Karen Butterworth for a one day workshop on preserving vegetables. Discover different techniques from cultures around the world to preserve the glut of whatever vegetables you have from your garden, allotment or local farmers' market to enjoy during the winter months. You will learn the art of using wild fermentation to make a variety of sauerkrauts from around the world, of using brines to make pickled gherkins, turnips and beetroot, and of drying, with or without a dehydrator, to make 'sun dried' tomatoes and courgettes.
This course includes a simple lunch and lots of tasting.
