Craft of Ceramics: Painting with Fire

A weekend introductory workshop exploring the process of Raku firing. We will be exploring the various glaze techniques, applications and special effects characteristically associated with Raku ware, in both a gas powered oil-drum kiln and a wood fired kiln. The weekend will especially focus on naked/sacrificial glaze and copper fuming. No previous experience is necessary, pots and tiles are provided or participants can bring their own. The workshop has been designed to give participants the maximum hands-on learning experience.
