When two trash-picking boys from Rio’s slums find a wallet in amongst the daily detritus of their local dump they think it is their lucky day. Little do they imagine that their lives are about to change forever. When the brutal local police show up, offering a handsome reward for the wallet’s return, the boys, Rafael (Rickson Teves) and Gardo (Eduardo Luis) realise what they’ve found must be important. Unlikely whistle-blowers in a city rife with corruption, they seek the confidence of priest Father Juilliard (Martin Sheen) rather than handing the wallet over for a reward.
