Parkway Dreams explores the goings on behind the development of the New Towns in the 70s and 80s. Using the authentic voices of those who worked for a Development Corporation, playwright Kenneth Emson has re-created the backroom stories of how a small cathedral city turned into a buzzy New Town, how ancient villages morphed into modern townships and how the new PR industry handles the phenomenon of TV advertising… all told through the eyes of Mary, Jack and Peter, a typical London ‘overspill family’.
