Oxjam At The Lighthouse Music Hub

The Devon Music Collective will be holding an event from Saturday 23rd until Sunday 24th at the Lighthouse Music Hub in order to raise funds for Oxfam. The event, which sees local music having a global impact is already being expected to be a major success with much interest being shown. "We did the same event in 2007 and the money we raised was a considerable sum," said Mark Wilkins who is running the event, "and from all the signs so far it is looking likely to exceed it by far. We've managed to book the finest bands and DJ's in the South West with over 40 confirmed acts."

The weekend will begin on the night of Friday 22nd with the energetic stylings of Ricky and the Pidgeons performing in the evening and will carry on right through until Sunday night with both the upstairs venue and the downstairs cafe becoming home to a feast of exciting music and stunning acts. Food will be served direct from the downstairs cafe featuring a range of deliciously tempting snacks that are all young people friendly.

The lineup is currently set to feature well known bands such as Wille and the Bandits who have recently finished touring with Reef where they demonstrated their ability to effortlessly mix an eclectic range of styles, Lunix a progressive heavy metal band who have seen heavy success and have performed for Help the Heroes, Room 4 1 More a fast melodic punk rock band from the bay area just back from touring the country, This Human Disease, The Kedellas, Dirty Dusk, The Beacons, The Aurora Skies, The Harmonix, Once Again as well as many more.
