2017 Huddersfield Saint Patrick's Day Parade

A Future in Unity: That will be cheer from joyful participants at the history-making 17th Huddersfield Saint Patrick's Day Parade

There will be no time to sleep off those Paddy's day hangovers because for the first time, the family festival of fun starts after the feast day - at the Irish Centre on Sunday March 19th at 1pm - and all are invited to keep the party pumping.

Supported by The Government of Ireland and The Big Lottery Fund Awards For All, the procession will feature an array of Irish acts and local talent, many of whom will work in unison to showcase their splendours.

Artistes include The Birmingham Irish Pipe and Drum band, Vital Statistix Rock covers band, Mod Revue, Celtic Duo, Jackanory Jazz, Huddersfield Youth Brass band, Silver Stars Majorettes, Cassidy Irish dancers, and Trad Irish outfit Celtic Duo.

Other attractions will include Mna na hEireann and All Saints Catholic College presenting the Womens Rugby World Cup in Ireland, Brothers Pearse GAA exhibiting Sporting unity, compere and disco, St Patrick’s School, Republic of Ireland supporters and team flags, Terry The Terrier, and Saint Patrick leading his followers, including The Turfman, Molly Malone and the leprechauns to the shindig.

Indeed there is no time to draw breath when the floats weave their way into Saint George's Square to meet the Town Crier, because while a symphony of sound melts into the Yorkshire textile town sky, supporters can browse their souvenir booklet and pause for the start of The Fiddle, The Drum and The Open Road show. Revellers will then be free to try out those dancing shoes as Keep it Country kick things off, the zany Frumptarn Guggenband keep it hopping and Giants Causeway will send everyone on their way with smiles on their faces as they finish with a rousing Irish rock mash up.

The ninety minute procession will then bid a fond farewell to supporters when it trundles out of town back to the post parade party.

A weekend of celebrations is the promise to all as we party round the clock, so roll into town and rock til you drop at the Huddersfield Saint Patrick's day Parade.
