Pressing Issues: Printing and reflection with Suman Gujral
Print has been used as a medium for protest and social commentary throughout history. As part of our exhibition ‘Chroniclers of history’, which explores the power of the writing of history, Suman Gujral will share her reflections as a poet and her expertise as an artist on the medium of print. Her visual and written work in recent years has been about the 1947 Partition of India and the migration crisis. You will be guided to make your own print as part of a small group. We will be trying linocut and monoprint and exploring techniques of how to make prints at your kitchen table as well as using a small table-top press.
