For the past 2 years, young people in Torbay have been looking at the kinds of entertainment that has been enjoyed at home and on the frontline during armed conflict. Last Summer, “The Chin Uppers’ Concert Party” performed to great acclaim at Babbacombe Armed Forces’ Day as a commemoration of the role that concert party pierrot troupes played in the First World War. This year the Young Volunteers at The Edge in Brixham have been recording the memories of local older folk about how they entertained themselves during the 2nd World War and other, more recent armed conflicts.
This project has been generously supported by the Armed Forces Covenant Grant. It is a collaboration between Torbay Council, Promenade Promotions Limited & Doorstep Arts.
