Red Earth Opera at Teignmouth

Red Earth Opera are again closing the Teignmouth Classical Music Festival. Red Earth Opera is a company run from Paignton by local singer and musician Jane Anderson-Brown. They performed Dido and Aeneas at last year's festival, and have been invited back to perform again. This year's opera is Idomeneo: King of Crete, by Mozart. It will be presented at the United Reformed Church in Teignmouth, in English, with narration, orchestra and semi-staged. Principal singers come from London, Wales, Bristol and Devon, and local professionals and skilled amateurs form the chorus and orchestra. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear and see a great opera presented in an approachable format. Tickets are £8/£5 and available from the box office on 01626 870107.
