Tuesday 28 May – Saturday 01 June 2013
Go Adventures is now in its third year. Last year for the first time we ran a creative residency wherein 10 young people created an illumination that lit up the exterior of Parkfield Youth Hub for the Finale. The event was a tremendous success with over 300 people in attendance. To read more about Go Adventures 2012 please visit: http://www.playtorbay.org.uk/adventure-play/go-adventures
Play Torbay are always seeking ways to support young people have new, exciting and creative opportunities. So this year we want to build on last year’s success and with your help provide an opportunity for creative wizards to shine!!
The promotional material to recruit young people to the residency reads like this:
Go Adventures is recruiting a specialist media crew who will have Access All Areas during the Go Adventures week. If you fancy whizzing about, tracking down the other Go Adventures teams with video cameras, animation kit, digital cameras and sound recorders then this is the team for you. You will be creating a giant, multi-media film show to be premiered at the Go Adventures finale. Not only that but you will be in charge of designing and building the final challenge course too! If you love watching films and animations, then learn the skills, use your own ideas and create something awesome for Go Adventures - sign up immediately, places are limited.
18 young people (age 11 and over) with an interest in multi-media art will be recruited to document Go Adventures 2013. Their mission (and yours) is to create a multi-media film to be presented at the Go Adventures Finale in just five days! They will also be designing and building a parkour challenge course which will be the final challenge for all Go Adventure 2013 adventurers.
Please note you will not be responsible for supporting the young people in the creation of the challenge course.
All together there will be x3 artists working with the group (at any given time you will be responsible for supporting up to x6 young people in process). Young people with additional needs will be provided with additional inclusion support as required. We will require artists to facilitate this project inclusively.
Each artist will work in one of three digital mediums: Photography, film and animation. The artists will work both independently and collaboratively. The end product will combine all three mediums in a multi-media presentation.
The Old House at Parkfield will be your base for the entire project. There is a basic kitchen, a range of large, medium and small rooms all with electric supply that can be utilised and an accessible toilet. The old house sits in the grounds of Parkfield Youth Hub and the amenities within the hub can be used for this project subject to availability.
