&Piano 2019 Event 1 - An Afternoon of Musical Theatre
&Piano is back for another season, celebrating and guiding you through music you may know, and may not! We begin &Piano again with another relaxed afternoon of songs from Musical Theatre. This year, as well as offering a selection of well-known hits from classics by Cole Porter (Kiss Me Kate) to modern gems from Boubil & Schoenberg (Les Miserables) and Pasek & Paul (The Greatest Showman), we're exploring tunes from less familiar and more recent shows - but all of them brilliantly crafted.
We’re delighted to welcome Elizabeth Chadwick, who grew up in Marsden, Huddersfield & Marc Kelly, both of whom are now based in London. Elizabeth and Marc studied together at the Cumbria Institute of the Arts together, and, alongside their professional careers as performers, they co-founded MKEC productions, which since has established a high reputation for producing and promoting lesser-known musicals off-west-end, including Elegies, The Baker's Wife, Lucky Stiff, and a critically acclaimed production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
Come and join us once again for another relaxed afternoon of songs from the shows!
Slaithwaite is a beautiful village in Huddersfield, that sits along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. It has a train station with trains that come direct from Leeds and Manchester. It is also a convenient location from the M62, coming off at either J23 (coming from Manchester), or J24. There is plenty of free parking around The Civic, and also many excellent café's, restaurants and bars for food or drink before or after.
