Torbay Culture Board Torbay Cultural Strategy

Enjoy, talk, do, be... a cultural strategy for Torbay and its communities 2014-2024 was approved and adopted by Torbay Council - a key strategy partner - in September 2014 and officially launched in December 2014.

The strategy covers the whole cultural sector (including arts, built and natural environment, heritage, libraries, media, museums, play, sport, tourism) and a new Torbay Culture Board has been established to oversee effective delivery of the strategy aims:

- to increase engagement and participation in cultural opportunities in Torbay
- to maximise the distinctive natural and built cultural assets of Torbay
- to ensure cultural development is a key contributor to economic and social development in Torbay

The Torbay Culture Forum will meet four times a year, with the inaugural Forum event taking place in March 2015 with a focus on culture, health & wellbeing. The second Forum in July focused in funding, partnership working and income diversification.

Kate Farmery, the new Executive Director, Torbay Culture Board, takes up her post in mid-September.
