The Glasshouse Legacy - history of Horticulture in Broxbourne
The Glasshouse Legacy is the new exhibition at Lowewood Museum running from 14 February 2025 to 28 June 2025.
The story of horticulture is intricately woven into the fabric of the Borough
of Broxbourne, with its roots firmly embedded in the local community. The
glasshouses that once flourished across the Lea Valley have left a lasting legacy.
The Museum has spoken with people holding vivid memories of the industry, many descending from families who once had owned the nurseries that thrived in the region.
The exhibition has been co-created with the Lea Valleys Growers Association and Wyld Edges CIC
The exhibition is part of the Your Heritage, Your Museum programme at Lowewood Museum funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The exhibition is on the ground floor of the museum.
Lowewood is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 4:30pm
