Mandy Johnson Exhibition

My Story and Hertfordshire Libraries would like to invite you to the finale exhibition of our most recent Artist in Residence, Mandy Johnson, which will take place at St Albans Library on Monday 27th January from 6.30-8.30pm.

Mandy was in residence between Sept-Dec 2024 at St Albans, Harpenden and Marshalswick Libraries. Her exhibition will showcase varied work created by attendees, pieces by the artist Mandy Johnson, and collaborative community collages from each library. There will also be a chance to get creative on the evening and have a go at some of Mandy’s artistic activities.

Mandy’s residency has engaged with over 800 people across 25 workshops. As well as a varied programme of creative events in libraries, this has also included visiting community settings such as day centres and primary schools, as well as celebrating seasonal holidays such as Diwali and Mid Autumn Festival. The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive and confirmed that Mandy has spready the joy of creativity across the district.

If you are not able to make the event, some of the exhibition will be up at St Albans Library for another 2 weeks to visit and view. Each community collage will go back to its host library and be on display forevermore.
