Tales of the River - New Public Art Piece
As part of the Tales of the River section of the wider project, Rediscovering the River Colne, Watford Borough Council are looking to commission an artist or artists to create a new piece of public art to sit along the River Colne.
This is an exciting opportunity generously funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Throughout this project Watford has engaged with a range of community groups, schools and businesses to engage them and build upon the art and heritage of the river.
Part of this project also saw two writers deliver writing & poetry workshops with two different groups and then deliver two pieces of writing about the River Colne and inspired by this community engagement.
We are looking to work collaboratively with the artists. So there will be a design panel, however we encourage artists to be as creative as possible in their submissions.
Watford are looking for artists with experience in dealing with public art pieces and especially artists who are looking to work sustainably and, where possible, sourcing from local materials.
The deadline for applications is set for Thursday 9 January 2025. To apply, please email: mailto:lewis.butler@watford.gov.uk - lewis.butler@watford.gov.uk Any further questions or queries are welcome as well
