✨ How do you carry on painting and drawing with arthritis? ✨

As a teaching artist, I come across this question quite a lot, so I thought I’d share a few suggestions I’ve picked up that might make drawing and painting a bit easier if you have arthritis:
- Choose lightweight pens, pencils & paintbrushes (e.g. bamboo handles are lightweight are not cold to the touch)
- Choose drawing and painting tools that have a large diameter (e.g. a paintbrush with a thick handle). Or try wrapping pencils, paintbrushes with rubber tubing to create thicker handles for better grip
- Use pliers to open tough paint tubes
More tips can be found on my art blog.
