Friends of Skelmanthorpe Library - 'Beyond the Sari' with Mary H

Mary Holt has been travelling to India since 2005. She has developed a network of suppliers from women's co-operatives and family suppliers in Rajasthan and Gujarat and is now able to bring back some of their own work to the UK.

Come and experience the wonderful, colourful, tactile and creative fabrics, garments and accessories that Mary brings back from her travels as she tells of the people she has come to know who are trying to keep their traditional craft skills alive in the face of industrial competition on a massive scale.
