Youth Company Manager, Opera North
Opera North is England’s national opera company in the North and one of Europe’s leading arts organisations. Through its Education department the Company seeks to encourage people, of all ages and from all walks of life, to explore the art form of opera and the work of Opera North; in doing so it seeks to break down perceived barriers to engagement with the artform. It seeks to champion excellence in opera and related fields by, with and for young people and to use arts participation and performance to enhance the health and well-being of people in the communities where we work.
An opportunity has arisen for a Youth Company Manager to collaborate with colleagues across Opera North to manage a portfolio of vocal training opportunities for young people within the Opera North Young Performers Programme; the core focus being the Opera North Children’s Chorus, Opera North Young Voices and the Opera North Youth Chorus.
The successful candidate will have significant experience working in a professional role in arts administration, professional experience or training in classical music and experience of working with young people. This post is subject to satisfactory DBS clearance, the ability to work across locations and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends where required.
