You're invited to join Opera North on a sound journey...

As we find ourselves pressing pause on live events again, you can still listen, watch and feel connected to music.

Created last spring, as part of BBC Arts and Arts Council England’s Culture in Quarantine programme, Walking Home: Sound Journeys from Lockdown are a unique way to explore the environment around you. There are five pieces to enjoy, each composed by musicians inspired by a particular place, time of day or state of mind.

Created specifically to be listened to on headphones whilst walking, each piece has been made with a particular place or time in mind, offering the listener a unique chance to renew their imaginative connections with their environment, as we continue to adjust to a new context for our outdoor activity and exercise.

New to the experience, or want to enjoy again? Either way we hope they'll be a great tonic to accompany your daily exercise. If you can't go out, or are self-isolating, simply close your eyes and let the sounds whisk you away.
