Kirklees Concert Season / Opportunities / Mon 06 Dec 2021
Director of Development, Opera North
The shape of the Company’s fundraising has changed through the course of the pandemic, with new areas such as online giving, supported by online events and activity, coming to the fore alongside traditional individual donor management, support from trusts and foundations and partnership working with the private sector.
It is an opportunity for the right person to build on the success of Music Works, leading a dynamic and committed team to energise and grow an existing individual and major donor base, whilst evolving and diversifying income from other areas to support Opera North's purpose of creating extraordinary experiences every day.
In their new home the Howard Opera Centre and Howard Assembly Room, they have a world class facility for rehearsal, production, learning and performance, providing a springboard for the company to emerge from the pandemic. It has been made possible by a major fundraising campaign that has energised an existing and new donor base, presenting an opportunity to build future philanthropy.
The Senior Management Team has been restructured to include the role of Director of Development, recognising that as the company plans and responds to a post pandemic landscape and Arts Council England’s new investment principles we will need to continue to build our contributed income.
This is an opportunity to join the senior leadership team of a complex and ambitious arts organisation, to lead strategic planning and delivery of fundraising to support the creation of performances and participatory activity that impact on people's lives every day.
