Arts Farm Open Day

Open Arts Day at Lower Heewood Farm, Chard, Dorset.

I am currently one of the Artists in Residence at Lower Hewood Farm, a 45 acre organic small-holding located on the borders of Dorset, Devon and Somerset. It is run as a working farm producing meat and vegetables for sale locally.

An ongoing programme of arts related events, projects and residencies take place in parallel with the everyday functioning of the farm. This is run by Alexa de Ferranti, a farmer with a background in Fine Art
and a small team of others.

The arts related activity take place in a range of buildings including a
farmhouse, sheds, converted barns and farm buildings, as well as the
surrounding land, a portion of which is a Site of Nature Conservation Interest.
Also in development is an archive of past and current agricultural practice, the
environment, local history, artist books and related documentation.
