My weavings reflect my wanderings along deserted beaches in Orkney, Barbados and Australia - walking in the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. I find I want the fibres to 'feel' like the sand, the sea and the hills. I try to create the mood, colour and details of what I have seen and felt - the very happy memories. I like the realism that this creates. I have spent a lot of time sitting and looking at the sea and the hills - dreaming - I want my weavings to have this quality - to be able to look and meditate.
