Torbay Jubilee Choir with Spectrum Music
The concert of music for War, Peace and Remembrance at Oldway Mansion on 10th November 2012, raised over £200 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. The concert featured the Torbay Jubilee Choir and Spectrum music, and was well received by a good sized audience.
The concert was organised and directed by Jane Anderson-Brown, who is the musical director for the Torbay Jubilee Choir. The choir are accepting new engagements in 2013, and will be singing in Brixham in January and Galmpton in March.
Membership of the choir is open to all singers who are confident to learn music on their own. Music is provided prior to the first rehearsal for each event, and learning tracks are also available. There is a small participation fee for each event, and rehearsals are held on varying days of the week so that those who sing with other choirs do not have to miss too many of their other rehearsals. Spectrum Music are currently seeking a new musical director. They are a wind concert band of around 30 players who rehearse weekly on a Wednesday evening in Kingskerswell. An honorarium will be paid to cover expenses. For more information contact the secretary@spectrummusic.org.uk
