Ian O'Halloran Artist Printmaker
I am an artist - painter and printmaker- inspired by the landscape and
I'm particularly drawn to ancient places that show marks and signs of earlier cultures (standing stones, hill figures, dew ponds and track ways) and try to capture a sense of my emotional connection with a location.
I originally trained as a Civil Engineer but decided there were enough roads and bridges in the World so left that career in 1989 to study art at Eastbourne Art College.
I've had several successful shows as a painter, but became hooked on printmaking in 2008 and this now forms the main part of my practice.
I've taken part in numerous exhibitions including the 'Artist of the year Award' 2013 show at the Mall Galleries.
In 2016 I was commissioned to design the cover of the book 'Hidden Histories: a spotters guide to the British Landscape' by Mary Ann Ochota.
