Starting salary £34,894 (pro rata) for a 4 day week, plus pension contribution

Hoot Creative Arts is seeking a Director of Business Development to provide co-leadership and strategic management alongside our Director of Creative Learning and Participation. Together, the Co-Directors will take responsibility for steering the organisation into the future. Hoot, a leading provider of arts and health, is looking for an ambitious, business-minded, and creative thinking individual to bring in new business, develop our public profile, and ensure our continued financial resilience.

Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Hoot runs a wide range of creative groups and activities for people with mental health needs, older people, people in prisons or special hospitals, and a range of vulnerable groups and communities (see www.hootcreativearts.co.uk).

Recently reappointed as an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, we have ambitious plans to:

• increase participation and make the arts central to personal and social growth and change

• produce and platform high quality art that raises the level of debate about sanity and madness

We are looking for someone with substantial experience of business development, a demonstrable track record of generating income, and a practical understanding of marketing and audience development; a strategic thinker, you will also have strong organisational abilities and excellent networking skills. You will have a grounding in arts and health, and knowledge of the not-for-profit and third sector. You will have experience at senior management level in a similar setting and the capacity to provide strong collaborative leadership.

Shortlisted candidates will take part in a presentation/meeting with participants, staff and board members on Monday 16 February followed by a more formal panel interview on Tuesday 17 February. If required, second interviews will be held on Monday 23 February.
