Hoot Creative Arts is an innovative arts and health charity with 15 years’ experience offering a range of creative activities to adults, including people living with dementia. Fundamental to our approach is the notion that every individual has a creative and imaginative capacity that is of central importance to mental and physical health and wellbeing. Our mission is to support the development of this creativity to build confidence, encourage personal growth and foster creative expression. OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXPERIENCED COMMUNITY ARTISTS
We are looking for lead artists from a variety of art forms with a minimum of 5 years’ community arts experience to deliver blocks of sessions on our Celebrating Age project. This project aims to engage older people in supported housing and other community settings by providing quality creative activities to stimulate curiosity and nurture creative exploration and expression. We are particularly aiming to reach people who may not ordinarily participate in creative activities.

Alongside devising and delivering sessions this project will also offer artists opportunities to mentor developing artists in their practice. Join us in our mission to provide more opportunities for older people to experience the benefits of taking part in quality creative activities.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR DEVELOPING/EMERGING OR RE-EMERGING ARTISTS
We have additional opportunities for developing/emerging artists from a variety of art forms who have some experience in community settings. Applications from people 55+ are particularly welcome and some mentoring support from a lead artist will be available. If you are keen to build on your practise, artistic confidence and skills by being involved with and contributing to Celebrating Age, then this could be for you.
