Go for an accessible walk with Holmfirth Arts Festival 2022
Going for a walk in the stunning Holme Valley countryside, is part of the Holmfirth Arts Festival celebrations for 2022.
An accessible walk for people with mobility issues and or disabilities, and their carers if needed, is an event at Yorkshire’s best small festival, which has a theme of ‘The Earth Beneath our Feet’.
Festival director Bev Adams said: “Celebrating the unique and beautiful landscape of the Holme Valley is at the heart of the festival. By going on a walk, with a guide, people of all ages and abilities can benefit with exercise and maybe seeing landscape you don’t know, or if you do know it, seeing things a little differently.”
On Saturday May 14, there is an opportunity to join a friendly activity trail on Accessible Activities Amble Walk, which takes place from 11.30am-1.30pm in Honley. The event is free but participants must book in advance.
The trail is suitable for people with mobility issues and / or disabilities and their carers. People can explore the nature trail, make a clay tile and enjoy music and poetry along the way. It is advised to bring a packed lunch and cake and drinks will be provided free of charge.
Meet at the entrance to Queen's Square Business Park, Honley, HD9 6AZ. More details from Jill@hotdoglets.com.
