Chapter and Verse
After Flow, I picked a slightly smaller sumi brush to crease small verses, or chapters of abstraction.
Here I had slightly more fun with the characters, aiming to get perhaps 10% 'real' Japanese into the text, including hiragana to spell names. I don't think I managed to get any complete names in but you could find a few friends if you put the pieces together. At each moment I suse real characters there was a slight hesitation in my writing, presumably as a more conscious part of my brain stepped in.
All in all, the Flow series has been a lot of fun, even when I moved to acrylic paint on a canvas panel.
Next is experimentation with much larger (decorators) brushes with sumi and acrylics together.
