Gilles Grimaître

Gilles Grimaître is a Swiss pianist, improviser and performer. Very active in the contemporary music field, he plays regularly with Ensemble Contrechamps, Ensemble Modern and Ensemble Proton. Here, performing in Huddersfield for the first time, he presents the world premiere of Raphaël Languillat’s La Flagellation du Christ (d’après Le Caravage), in which performer, public and piano are physically, spatially and psychologically unified.
